Aging gracefully has always been in the forefront of my mind since entering my thirties. I’ve always been a product junkie, even in my teen years where I couldn’t wait to try out the latest shampoo and conditioner, but as I started traveling along a path of eliminating toxins it was then that I learned the importance of what is in the products we are putting on our bodies.
Our skin, as you may or may not know, is our largest organ. Anything you put on it gets absorbed into your bloodstream. Scary, huh? Not only do we need to be concerned about getting skin cancer from too much sun exposure, what chemicals and fillers are in our products are also unsafe for us to use on a regular basis.
I stumbled upon True Botanicals a few years ago after seeing Olivia Wilde promote their natural and safe products that have clinically proven results. I mean, if Olivia Wilde uses these products to have that skin, then count me in! (great marketing, btw!) I fell in love immediately with the Pure Radiance Renew Mist and Face Oil. The smell, the way it made my skin feel. After a few weeks I noticed my skin felt softer without the oily feeling.
From there, I have tried most of their products and incorporated my favorites (which is incredibly hard to even choose because they are all so good!) into my daily skincare and weekly at-home spa routines. I typically start with their Pre Cleanse Oil to breakup dirt and makeup prior to washing. Then I wash with the Renew Nourishing Cleanser before misting my face, neck, and décolletage with the Renew Nutrient Face Mist or the Calm Nutrient Face Mist. I love to use the Calm Nutrient Face Mist during the summer after being out in the sun to help with redness or inflammation. Right now I am loving my next step with their new Renew Chebula Active Immunity Serum to prevent, protect and correct all signs of aging. I then wrap up my skincare routine by applying the Renew Pure Radiance Face Oil all over. I love how hydrated my skin feels without it being overly oily.
To treat my body, my two favorite products are their True Radiance Body Resurfacing Mask and Body Oil. I try to apply 2-3 times a week, especially during the summer months when more skin is exposed to harsh environments like the sun. For added exfoliation and help with lymphatic draining, I like to dry brush prior to applying the Body Resurfacing Mask.
Have acne prone skin? They also have a Clear Radiance line just for you! To treat my hormonal acne, I dab some of the Clear Nutrient Toner with a cotton pad and swipe over the area twice a day after cleansing.
